Cedar Sol Hydro Farm - a Northern Michigan Destination!

In season, we offer a unique and enjoyable picking experience overlooking the beautiful Cedar Valley. Our produce is grown in a stacked hydroponic system providing a simple, no bending or kneeling picking experience.

The system is shut off for the winter and the plants are pulled, but that shouldn’t stop you from visiting one of Michigan’s largest outdoor hydroponic farms! We’d be happy to give you a tour.

Our hydroponic system allows for us to use just the right amount of water for our plants.

Virtually all water waste is eliminated.

We also take advantage of vertical space, decreasing the amount of land required.
FYI for families with wee-ones: Unlike plants in the dirt whose root systems grow long in order to seek out nutrient, plants grown hydroponically do not root down deep. So as not to yank out our precious plants, we use scissors to cut our fruits and vegetables. If children are old enough to walk responsibly with scissors as well as carefully cut the berries, they may pick freely. The Young Ones you would not yet trust with a pair of scissors should be carefully supervised. Thank you!
